# Information We Collect

When you use a SoundingBox participant app, we collect information relating to you and your use of our services from a variety of sources:

  • Study responses. We collect and store the study responses that you submit. We are responsible for this data and manage it. A survey will not ask you to provide personally identifiable information or data. If you have any questions about a survey you are taking, please contact us at support@soundingbox.com.
  • Usage data. We collect usage data about you when taking a study. This may include which webpages you visit, what you click on, when you performed those actions, screen shots, etc. Additionally, like most websites today, our web servers keep log files that record data each time a device accesses those servers. The log files contain data about the nature of each access, including originating IP addresses.
  • Device data. We collect data from the device and application you use to access our services, such as your IP address and browser type. We may also infer your geographic location based on your IP address.
  • Referral data. If you arrive at a SoundingBox website from an external source (such as a link on another website or in an email), we record information about the source that referred you to us.
  • Information from page tags. We use third party tracking services that employ cookies and page tags (also known as web beacons) to collect aggregated and anonymized data about visitors to our websites. This data includes usage and user statistics.

When you download and use our Services, we automatically collect information on the type of device you use, operating system version, and the device identifier (or "UDID"). We do not ask for, access or track any location based information from your mobile device at any time while downloading or using our Mobile Apps or Services.

Providing survey responses is voluntary. Remember, you can always choose not to provide an answer to any given study question. However, sometimes this will prevent you from completing a study if the study has marked that question as requiring an answer.

# How we use your personal information

Your study responses are owned and managed by SoundingBox, and we treat that information as private to us and to our clients. Study responses are used as aggregated and anonymized data for reports to our clients.

SoundingBox may use your e-mail address to compensate you via PayPal for completion of some studies. If you were invited via an online panel, the panel is responsible for your payment.

We also use the information we collect from you (including usage data, device data, referral data and information from page tags) to manage and improve our services.

# App Data Usage and Battery Life Usage

The SoundingBox app uses your device's battery at rate that does not exceed the average app. Data fees may be incurred and we encourage users to connect to a wi-fi network when using the app.

# Uninstall Instructions

You may uninstall the SoundingBox app at any time. For example, to uninstall on your iPhone, locate the SoundingBox icon on your home screen. Tap and hold the icon until the option to delete appears as a small 'x' at the top left of the icon. Tap the 'x' and then tap 'Delete' at the delete prompt.

We will send you strictly service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send you an email, but we will never send you a text message.

We use other third parties such as an email service provider to send out emails on behalf our Clients. When you sign up for our services, we will share your personal information only as necessary for the third party to provide that service.

We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Web site, when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request and to any other third party with your prior consent to do so.

If SoundingBox is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our Web site of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your personal information.
